How do you love?
With words?
Vapor
Air
Noise
Build on air?
Remove the words...
Your love shows its quality.
Empty.
With actions?
Solid
Earth
Silence
Build on earth?
Words are superfluous...
Your love shows its quality.
True.
Time. Presence. Essence. Effort.
Caring. Understanding. Affection. Communication.
These are words... of action.
These actions build love.
"I love you." Effortless to write.
Three words. Less than three seconds.
The naive believe.
A man may speak the words. What draws love into existence and galvanizes it are the actions that prove the heart. If only words are given, without corresponding proof, then the words are void... hollow.
A man may never utter "I love you." But observe...
And the truth will reveal itself.
Oh, how I would rather experience the pleasure and pain of life through silent love, while holding a lover's steady hand... than read skeletal declarations of love in epic language!
From the mundane to the thrill...
It is in the presence of love that life has greatest meaning.
Who truly loves?
The one who declares in sporadic word?
Or
The one who acts according to words unspoken?
How can love be shown?
Acta non verba.
Known?
Just watch.
So very tired of words, words, words... Duplicity. Lies. Manipulations. Suspicions. Doubts. All because of words, words, words... Explanations. Justifications. Timelines. Questions. Why? Are our reactions and responses so ingrained in past conditioning, so jaded, that barricades and bricks spring up at the slightest provocation?
ReplyDeleteSo very tired of words, words, words...
I crave silent security.
Sweet.
Sometimes one must burn the bridges to the past. What good is a future if we keep looking behind us? If you let Duplicity. Lies. Manipulations. Suspicions. Doubts cloud your judgment then your future will look bleak. Explanations. Justifications. Timelines. Questions. Because we are human, do you ask questions of others, a lover, a friend or family member? Do you not expect an answer in a timely fashion. You do write very intellectually. You have given me much to think on when I read your writings.
ReplyDelete"...let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth." You may well have heard "I cannot hear you, your actions are speaking so loudly?" Are you a person who observes? Do you watch? Do you listen? Lip-service is repugnant to me. While I don't believe in having to prove love, it can be readily observed in action, in response, in care, in time... just as easily as the lack thereof can be observed.
DeleteYes, I ask questions, and appreciate a timely response. Even an "I don't know," is acceptable. When asked questions, depending on the depth, it may take me time to formulate an answer, as the answer is not lightly given. This may border on procrastination, and is something that needs some work :-)
If as you say you appreciate a 'timely response' don't you think others would appreciate the same? Yes, I do agree that if a question is ask that an answer should be carefully thought out, if required to do so. Procrastination is an excuse not to do something that should be done.
DeleteAre you referring to any particular question, the answer to which has lagged? Many an opportunity is passed by because of indecision (procrastination). And one can stand with regret... watching as it walks away.
DeleteNo, there isn’t any particular question. I to have often wished for the silence once again. I have stood in a place of darkness with silence all around. Actions of love most definitely speak louder than those three words, but to hear them spoken from the heart is heavenly.
ReplyDelete...and if denied the opportunity to speak them?

DeleteYou've got me curious now.
DeleteYou once stood in a place of darkness, surrounded by silence...? What drew you out? And why have you often wished to return to it?
See? I'm full of questions.
And, often, I must be content with never receiving answers.
Whether or not you reply, thank you for your comments.
